We are always looking for new members ........ either on sax or  rhythm.  Current  band members are aged from 13 to 18,  however, we will audition younger players. Members of  'soundbyte'  are encouraged to improvise on blues scales or over chord changes, members are generally good readers of approximately grade four/five or above. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY the band is an  awesome team of enthusiastic performers who love having fun and making music together.
 
Our music is all ‘ written ‘ except for occasional solo passages over chords. All our music is 'jazzy' in its broadest sense, - latin, swing, funk, reggae, soul......  we are a unique group playing  specially commissioned music, there is nothing quite like soundbyte  out there, so if you are up for it call or email now, or maybe it's a case of just  'suck it and see'...
 
We are planning to introduce a scholarship scheme to help existing woodwind players ( clarinet, oboe, flute ) learn to play saxophone alongside their own instrument.  We have loan instruments and can help with lessons with pro jazz teachers.
 
We rehearse each Wednesday evening in the “ Dream Studio “ in the grounds of St John Fisher Catholic High School.   We perform live regularly... just look at our diary for the amazing list of forthcoming gigs.
